Group Presentation Summaries
Fiorella Mora.
As a class leader I had the privilege to listen to every group present and give my input on their presentations. I felt like they all did a great job considering the fact that it was their first time presenting this semester.
Group 1 gave us information on "How To Prepare For A Speech". Starting off, the presentation was great. They talked on introducing yourself before the speech so the audience gets to familiarize themselves with the speaker. They also talked about speeches not being longer than 5 minutes, to keep the audience engaged and for them to be able to remember everything you talked about. They also spoke on selecting a good topic you are very knowledgeable on, to come off as a speaker who knows what they are talking about and have the audience to gain that trust in the speaker. The speaker should be very interactive with the audience and have their attention throughout the whole talk. Overall I feel like i learned a lot from group 1 and definitely made me more aware of the preparation i should have before giving a speech in front of an audience.
Group 2 covered the topic of "Finding Information And Supporting Your Ideas". They started off on how to introduce a presentation because it will determine whether the audience will listen. Also, on how to conclude a presentation and if any questions are asked to remind and clarify the response given to the audience. They touched on the topic of body language and how important the audience perceive you as a speaker. However you stand and carry yourself will determine if you are nervous or confident. They also explained different types of presentations, for example there is a memorize mode, impromptu mode, extemporaneous mode and questions and answer. Which was a new thing for me because i had never realized the different types of speeches there are and i'm sure many people did not realize as well. Finally, they finished it off by talking on how to use your voice effectively and when to have pauses and the duration of your speech. Group 2 did an amazing job at explaining and giving examples.
Group 3 discussed with the class on "How To Become An Excellent Presenter" they gave all the tips and tricks on how to up your game on speeches and how to present in different ways. For example, on how to present while you are giving a persuasive speech and the different types of strategies to use. They also went over speaking on special occasions and the different occasions you can encounter as a presenter. Group 3 seemed so prepared and spoke very well throughout the whole presentation. Nervousness might have been there but they sure did not show it. They even knew how to include a new person in the group and give them a new part in the presentation a day before, that just shows how good their communications skills as a group are.
Overall, all 3 groups did amazing even in the circumstances we are in right now, not being able to see each other in person and present like that. Even with the changes this class is showing us the great presenters they are! I seriously cannot wait for all the presentations that are to come!
