I want to start it off by saying how every group did such a great job. They took their time to search up and really look into their topics, teaching us about different topics that were completely new and different. With being a leader I have had the time to watch every group present and have my opinions on their presentations, which has been a great learning experience for me.


Group 1 talked about The Effects Music has on people. They did a great job researching about this topic. They basically talked about the changes that have taken place throughout musics time and showed us a great video of how music has evolved, they also talked about how music can change how a person feels and their mood, music eases stress and aids in focus and concentration. They also spoke on the uses of music in mental health patients and how it could help people with surgeries or people with dementia and Alzheimer’s. The difference affects instruments and how music is used to evoke different emotions. Finally I also learned from group 1 on how music can impact athletic performance and how we use it for our advantage everyday. This presentation really made me realize how music is a big part of our lives, its something I listen to everyday and use for my advantage to so many things. 

Group 2 talked about The Advancement of The Space Exploration. They did such a fantastic job explaining this topic to us. This topic was one of my favorites just because of how different it was for me. It is something I did not know much about and they really helped me learn more about this topic. They really went in depth on the topic and they definitely took their time to do their research. They went over the past history of space and how much its advanced from then. They also talked about the current situation of the space exploration and the potential projects for the future. They went over the advancements other countries have had and how far they have come along as well. Finally, they talked about the economy within their programs and where its located and also how they are worldwide in this situation as well. This was such a great topic and I definitely learned a lot from this group. They did so great!

Group 3 talked about How Social Media has affected our Society. Group 3 did such an impressive job. They really went in depth on the effects that social media has done to us. First, they went over the Origin of social media and the politics aspect of it. Then they went on to talk about it has affected us mentally. A lot of people have struggled mentally with social media whether its from cyberbullying to body image and being very insecure, or even a new acronym i learned which is FOMO ( fear of missing out). That can really mess with a person mentally. They also went over the effects it has caused people physically, for example not going outside as much and not being as active, or like i said before having this unrealistic body image in your head and wanting to change how you look because of it. They went over the opportunities social media has had on many people in a positive way and even in a negative way and finally, they talked about the effects social media has caused in peoples relationships and effects on the education aspect of things. This topic was beyond great and i am sure it made a lot of people realize how much Social Media has affected our lives and how much control it has over the young adults. Which is something that I have decided to change in my life and let social media not have that much control over me. Group 3 did and amazing job at informing us about this topic.

Reflections on the first presentation

  Since I was one of the leaders in this class, I had the advantage of seeing everyone else presenting and catching on their strategies. It seemed that all presenters were very comfortable on presenting and they rarely showed any sign on nervousness.  The most challenging aspect of these presentations was using meaningful multimedia.  It could also be very challenging when we have a lot to share but do not know how to properly deliver the message in a logical order.  While watching the recordings of these presentations, I was able to identify that this challenge was evident although presenters tried to hide it as they were speaking.  The most surprising aspect of their speech was that they effectively used their slides to support their message and doing it remotely.  This might have always been an easy thing, but because of Covid-19 it might have been a little harder for presenters, so it is a great aspect. Reflections on the informative presentations

 Observing speeches like an audience member, as a moderator, has been a helpful and interesting experience. Entering the class, I felt that I was already a rather strong public speaker. However, now I know better the many areas on which we need to pay attention to when developing this skill, this art. On analyzing all the work done by my classmates during this period, I have some points to examine.  The first group talked abo ut Music and its effects. They made an excellent use of multimedia when they showed us a video where we could see changes of music in time. We learn a great information about why music is so important in our lives. They also showed a strong research skill, bringing us updated facts.  To make things differently, the second group came out with a very unique and extremely important topic which was Space Exploration.                           SPC 1017 Presentations Fiorella Mora.       As a class leader I had the privilege to listen to every group present and give my input on their presentations. I felt like they all did a great job considering the fact that it was their first time presenting this semester. I want to start it off by saying how every group did such a great job.
